Written after what should have been a huge family affair.

Families love each other,
don’t have to like, but love,
unconditionally, No matter what

Raised to respect all the elders
Bonfire parties and wiener roasts,
Race day and bottle rockets
Harvest time, those darn beans

All the little cousins,
I can’t wait till we are all grown
With families of our own
We will have fun
Carry on tradition

Who needs friends
They stab you in the back
I can always count on family
Families love each other,
don’t have to like, but love,
unconditionally, No matter what

Write? WRONG!!

Even though it was just a few years
It seems so long ago
The family is torn
No one cares, no one respects
No one really LOVES

I was at the farm a few days ago
It was a beautifully simple wedding
With so many missing
Come to think of it there has been,
Something missing for quiet some time now

Why? Is it guilt? Fear?
Is it hate or just jealousy?
I’ll tell you what it is
It is saddening to think about.

I am in the same position in my own family, the only thing i suggest is too let all of them know how u feel. I am sure you will not be the only one in your family that feels this way. Then work from there, remind all how it feels to have that bond back. Share stories of your youth, let them know you love them, and most importantly, just let them know or it will never change. Good luck.
