Thou sent thine only son, a sinless lamb, a curse for me to suffer,
For in thy great mercy thou makest a plan, new life for me to offer.
That Holy lamb upon the tree, thy wrath was forced to feel,
And unworthy me, by belief in thee, received salvations seal.
That day t’was marked by darkness bright and yet a complete delight,
For sinful man was freed from sin, hell no longer his only plight.
If my life be the only gift, worthy to be given thee,
Then sweet my Lord, take my life, this mine only plea.
