Loyalty can be defined by a dictionary as, “a feeling or attitude of devoted attachment and affection,” which means one feels attached to something or someone because of their love to it. I believe this is the true meaning behind loyalty, because in order to truly be loyal to something you must be willing to do anything for it and in order to do something for someone, or for a cause it must be something you believe in with all your heart and not just something you say you do. This is what makes a difference between just being ordered around and a follower from a loyal follower, because implying force to make someone do something can only go as far as you can scare them but as soon as that grip loosens up then that once follower will leave because their heart was never into it.

I see loyalty before me now whenever I stand with my LBs and I see how much dedication and pride they have for taking on this role and how much of their all they give into this to see it on till the end. With a lack of pride, dedication, trust, and heart, you begin to lack true loyalty because with out these qualities you begin to doubt and dampen your spirit. This was seen with Anoop who after two days saw that he truly was not loyal to everything like he thought he would be, and I think that out of everyone he knew it was because he lacked the heart and dedication to the process which showed he lacked the loyalty to see it out through to the end. However, this should never be taken in negatively though, because even though lacking loyalty is a huge issue being involved in something that you lack loyalty for, I find is a bigger issue and one that would cause more trouble for everyone who was involved. The problem with lying and saying you are loyal to a group so that you and them believe it, is that when the real push comes to shove you may flake out of it and therefore spawn hate from those people who once were so close to you. This also losses respect for yourself because no one will consider entrusting someone who is so unsure of themselves that they quit on it when it became hard on them, this only shows they are concerned for themselves and they make promises they are not sure they can keep.

In the end of it all loyalty come from deep down with in a person because of the burning passion for what they stand for, and not just because they feel ordered around. True loyalty can be seen because a person puts their all into it and they can show they have a burning passion under it because everything they do can show their loyalty, like they way they talk about it, and when they do something in relation to it. Like Woodrow T. Wilson once said, “Loyalty means nothing unless it has at its heart the absolute principle of self-sacrifice,” and I could not have summed it up any better myself.
