Nature stops its proud course to stare, confident faces now aware, invisible brains now challenged…
Who is this new companion?
Piercing eyes and skin so fair.
No words to describe the greens and browns
Simply dressed, plain black gown
All stop to admire the fascinating creature
She has seen them all before
It is her gaze they cannot ignore.
She ignores the fame and continues to stare,
Jealous of her calm, they pretend not to care
Still, trapped by her wonder, temptation tickles again
Curiosity refuses to stop and tickles with temptation
Nature must look once again to ask what are you?
Then the tiniest simple seed
Has the innocence to say what all of nature sees
And quietly asks, “What are you?”
She merely smiles
Ignoring the mighty once again.
