Music and joy.
She sat at the piano.
Just staring at the keys.
Before she knew it her fingers were flying across the piano keys. They moved so fast it was as if she were on autopilot. She almost didn’t have to think, her hands were playing so fast.
She felt this shift inside of her. It was like a giant piece of the puzzle had finally fallen into place.
She stopped for a brief moment because the song ended. She took a minute to contemplate what she was going to play next. She wanted to play something joyous, that would explain how she was feeling. The piano was a true extension of herself and her soul. She chose an Elton John song and got comfortable in her chair.
A smile finally appeared on her face.
She got lost in the music she was playing. Getting completely wrapped up in the song. Soon, though, that song ended also. By this time, she took stock of what was around her.
She wasn’t used to the house yet. She rented the house from a friend of hers and was still getting use to it. The room where the piano was located was very ornate. But it was the piano that took center stage in the room.
This time she decided to tackle something a little more recent. And just like before, she got wrapped up in the music. Her body started to get into it as she swayed back and forth while her hands went up and down the keys lightening quick.
For that short moment in time, she was happy.
The song ended and she stopped playing. She contemplated what she was going to play next.
She just stared at the keys.
Sitting at the piano.
