This is a poem i wrote after the war on Iraq. i feel sad when i see young army men and innocent people die.

War is necessary some people say

because they dont try to find another way

to end the disputes between countries

to bring freedom and change boundaries

Soldiers fight for different reasons

some out of compulsion to escape treason

some for honor and glory

While others fight to protect their country

But hidden are the reasons

For this war that lasted many seasons

The reason is to make money

But they say it is to remove tyranny

There are no winners in this war

Many loose what they live for

Mothers their sons,wives their husbands

Children their Father, and people their friends

I pray to God to stop this war

Brothers fighting brothers, what is this for?

I hope that there is no war again

But i know that i am hoping in vain

Hi, i like your poem. Just wanted to say with regards to the second verse most soldiers fight just because its their job. Imagine being an athlete and training for ages only to never get the chance to compete. Well, a soldier trains and trains for years sometimes and then is finally grateful for a chance to compete in his chosen field. When you are out there on the field the last thing you think about is the reason you are there. Rightly or wrongly, you are there to do your job and come home safe. Again, its a reeally good poem. I like your work. MC.
