A fictional development of the Aztecs. Researched from several sources.

With the capital city of the Aztecs, Tenochtitlan, razed to the ground by the conquering Spanish and the grand Mexico City built atop it, the proud Aztecs are forced to bow down. With their obsidian swords rendered useless, the greatest empire in North America is almost to an end. With only the remote strongholds still standing, the Spaniards has changed all status of the former Aztec tradesmen as well as the lower class into slaves. However, seeds of rebellion still form among the hearts of the brave…

Ruler-Lord Mixtzin(with the tzin symbolizing royalty and a direct relation to the Revered Speaked in Tenochtitlan

My character- Tenmaxtli, nephew to Mixtzin. San Juan(called during his Spanish apprenticeship)

Titles- Lord, the Lord’s nephew, Oorsay(brave, fearless)

With the fading influence of the Aztecs and most forces into submission, Temaxtli grew up in Aztlan, the Aztec outpost furthest north. By stopping trade routes, these secluded Aztecs left the Spaniards unaware of their existence. And Tenmaxtli, journeys to the newfound Mexico City to learn, to spy, to recruit and to get revenge(his father was killed by Cortez himself).

With the prototype of the gunpowder and the assuado(a miniature gunpowder/trebuchet) in his hands. The young prince, only at 15(but has gained his loincloths, a symbol of manhood), recruits and longs to be rid of the white man. Mexico City is ablaze after 3 consequent blasts, with the young Aztec planning the first seeds of revenge…

Nation status(overall)- Declining, surviving outposts

Special units- Obsidian swords, spears, assuado(gained form the Spanish)

Aztec Sightings

Far north of Atztak(remember? the last northen Aztec stronghold), resided the Desert People. Now the Desert People were merely marauders who hunted and otheir seclusion merged to barbaricity. A spinoff of these became the Yaki, when some Indio Desert people settled in the Mountainous area near Raramurilands now commonly referred of as the Yaki Lands.

The Yaki

Now Atztak is 50 miles from Tenochtitlan(Mexico City), and the remote Yaki lands are 150 miles more north.(east of the Sea of Cortes). Now the Yakis, in this new informed, began to develop new cultural norm. They disintegrated into three “clans”:Mayo, Opata and Kahita. The Yaki developing 7 ancestral “towns”(morelike villages) to reside. These three separate clans constantly warred on each other and occupied 2-3 cities. Once a year, they all rejoined under the white staff, and being still thoroughly bored, went further south to invade their cousins the Desert People. And the Desert People in turn were excited as well for finally a slaughter…
