This courageous young girl covered herself and ran right through the flames to escape. She did make it out of the house, but when she got outside, the cold night air hit her and she burst into flames! She ran through the field and down into the tunnel, screaming in pain! She tried rolling in the dirt in the tunnel to put the flames out, but it did not work. That is where she died, in the tunnel.

     Since that night, it is said, that if you light a match in the tunnel you will hear a girl scream out in pain, then a wind will come along and blow out your match!

            This happened on a main road in New York just outside of Baltimore. At a very busy intersection.

           A doctor was driving home late on a Saturday night from a dance. He of course slowed down at the intersection. He looked and saw a beautiful young girl, dressed in a evening gown, looking for a ride. He put on his brakes and told her to climb in the backseat.

         He spoke to her and asked her ” what in the world was she doing out here all alone? ” This young girl hesitated and replied ” It’s a very long story. ” She then asked him to take her home and gave him directions and off they went.

       The doctor drove and they did not say a word to each other. He arrived at her house and turned towards the girl in the backseat, it was empty!

      The doctor couldn’t believe it! He got out of the car and rang the doorbell on the house. Finally someone answered came to the door.

     He told this person what had just happened to him. The person of the house was not surprised. He told the man this had happened to several other people. He went on to tell him that the young girl was his daughter. She had been killed in a automobile accident at that very intersection two years ago!
