Have you ever heard of the 10 minute free-write exercise?  You sit down with a pen and some paper and set a timer for ten minutes and write down anything that pops into your head.  The purpose is to open your mind to new writing ideas.  You actually write down alot in ten minutes.  After the exercise you are supposed to go back and look for themes or ideas on which to write, it’s great when you have writer’s block.  I’m sharing mine here not because it’s amazing or well written but because it’s kind of funny.  Read mine and then do it yourself and see what craziness you come up with.  Remember, you must constantly be writing, no pauses!  Even if it’s utter nonsense, just keep writing.  Here it goes:

John beat the bush with a hammer.  Tori struck the bear wearing diapers.  Sam eats chicken.  Watch the moon.  Why am I here?  Does anybody hear this?  Why can’t we believe?  Sad pillows focus on hair.  Be right back.  Wow!  What a weirdo.  Some people eat eagles.  Why do we fly?  Have some potatoes.  Ride the bus on Sunday night with cheese in your pocket.  Everybody sings in the shower.  Wood is beautiful.  Shiny people love angels.  Car business, pressure, succeed, succumb, embarrass, horseshoes, horseshit.  Every red weiner loves tomato sauce.  Jingle Jangle we are sweet.  Love happens to everybody.  Chris eats pickles.  Some sad sausages love to be in old moldy bread.  Some weirdo stole my jacket.  Have some cheese.  Keep writing.  Nobody likes chocolate.  Everybody dances when they are happy, so do I.  What do I do when I’m sad?  Angry elves love Jesus.  Some bitter cold snakes eat leaves.  Why, why, why?  What happened to the Beatles?  I’m running out of paper.  Two states exist in this country.  Songs play all day.  What, when, why, how, where?  Beer eats celery.  My hand hurts.  What a weird day with yellow people.  Keep writing, keep going.  Why, what?  Purpose.  Where?  Go, go, go!  Just sit there and shut up!  Dark, darkness.  Jail, prison, shut up.  See light, feel darkness.  Demons.  Lose battle.  No victory.  Eat crow.  Forever, forgotten, seemlish, outlandish, car, beef jerky, sauce, pickles, food, jam, bisquits, south, airplane.  Sit on a train.  Run through the feilds.  Sit on a board.  Fish eat people.
