A discussion that led to what hurt the most, watch out for these!

1. Banging of the Funny bone

So whoever gave it the name “funny bone” were quite witty, as were the scientists who gave it the latin name humerus bone, as it really really really hurts when you bang it and is not funny at all.

2. Pins and Needles…of the Foot

Ever sat for too long, realised your leg is dead and tried to stand up? The foot is the worst. Trying to walk on a numb foot is like sliding on a banana skin- very wobbly and somewhat dangerous. The worse thing is trying to move it and feeling all the sensations of it not actually being there… horribly odd. Banging a numb foot is enough to make anyone curse loudly.

3. Stubbing of the Toes

Be it tripping over something, or walking into an obstacle who’s position you severely misjudged, stubbing your toe(s) is severely painful. I’ve shrieked so many times after doing this, the pain is sudden and so so throb-y.

4. Sticking of Arm Hairs

Those darn bracelets with elastic in them… when you move them on your arm all the hairs sting. Not good. Also, self waxing with sello tape, don’t do that. Your hairs will cry. And so will you.

5. Jamming of Fingers in Doors

Probably not a good idea to slam that door kids, no matter how much your parents are aggravating you. Chances are, you’ll get a finger caught and you’ll be in pain for days.

6. Ripping of Nail from Nailbed

Stings like a beast, bleeds and throbs for hours. Mind that hang-nail and, again, try not to slam the doors. Ouch.

7. Burning of Gum or Tongue

Shovelling that burning hot morsel of food into your mouth is NOT a good idea. It will really rather sting, and a little flap of skin will emerge on the roof of your mouth, or your tongue will be sore for days.

8. Grit in the Eye

Speaks for itself really. “Keep blinking, it will come out.” Yeah, but it hurts! Grit and dust in the eye, will make you squirm and sometimes leave scars, if its a big bit of grit… Perhaps I should blink faster.

9. Splitting of the Lip

So here’s a personal anecdote that will make you pay attention… I hope. In primary school, when I was about 9, maybe 10, I didn’t push my chair in. On the way back, I tripped over said chair, went flying and my face smacked into a nearby table leg. My lip promptly split and my front tooth fell onto the floor. I passed out with pain. I couldn’t eat solid food for at least four days. I still have scars on my lip. PUSH YOUR CHAIRS IN!

10. Banging of Head on Surface

When retrieving something you’ve dropped under the table/desk, or exiting through a low doorway- mind your head. I’m sure you all know how much it hurts. Not good.
