A viewpoint about 2012.
It seems with all the hype and now a movie surrounding 2012, I thought I’d investigate it. And you wouldn’t believe what I’ve found out. It seems the Mayas really didn’t predict the end of times when they were recording the events of 2012. If anything it is now being reported that the Western-Christian world was involved in forcing that idea onto the Mayas. However, you still can’t help but wonder if the stories behind 2012 might have some truth to it. So I decided to dig up some information on all the different religions. And if there’s one thing they have in common it’s this 2012 seems to be the year of doom. It’s not clear as to what will happen but there has been a lot of speculation and even predictions such as though from Nostradamus and his famous Quatrains. Which have some believing that great disasters are soon upon us while others think of it as nothing more than hype. If it does happen however, there is debate about what will happen exactly. For example, will the planets align and cause some great chaos with earth or will nukes fall from the sky. How about the good old comet hitting earth bit. Honestly though, I believe it’s getting a little out of hand when fourth graders write that they don’t want to die and still have a lot to live for. Then yes, it’s getting a little out of hand. Granted, I’m not saying we should keep an eye open just in case. However, we shouldn’t scare our children at night with what or what might not happen. To me that’s just crushing their chance of any future. Now I know there will be those 2012 fanatics of Nostradamus that will say “But they should know the truth. They have the right to know.” You’re right they do. But I don’t believe forcing it on them day in and day out helps matters any. If anything we should be informative about what’s going on but at the same time live life to the fullest. And don’t worry about the future. Neither you nor I can change what is to come. So worrying about what will and will not happen is just a waste of time. If anything be thankful for today and look forward to tomorrow. Whatever it may bring. 2012 or no 2012.
