Day seven of the challenge.

Why do I feel that I am going to regret writing this article? Oh yeah, because this article is specifically about a bit of my past.

It all starts on a Winters evening. My mum was preparing the five of us, my sisters and Jessica, that is me for the coldest night of festive fun ever. As I forced myself into a red childish jacket and many layers beneath I held my mothers hand and looked up to her crystal, blue eyes as she smiled at what she had created; five daughters.

“SANTA. Mummy, can we go see SANTA CLAUS?” I remembered screaming at the top of my lungs to see “Santa,” I only wanted to tell him that I wanted the new barbie doll and not to mention a chocolate Santa figure to eat tonight. “Sure.” Mum smiled as we collected our bags and squeezed into a seven seated bus like car. It was strange without Dad, but we all knew we’d be safe under Mummy’s wings and later see our Daddy.

The town was packed with all sorts of people, people with red noses and smoke-like breaths. As I walked, holding my mothers hand on one side and my sisters on the other, I suddenly became scared of my surroundings, each step I walked I had no idea where I was heading, my sight saw feet and the icy ground below, my touch felt my mothers and sisters cold, fluffy hands, my smell smelt frozen and my tastes where tasteless, I was only four, I was scared of a ladybug let alone the busy big town, lit up with lights.

It was later in the evening and mum told us all to stay together, because of the commencing surprise. Mum said I was to look up at the dark sky and I would see something beyond beautiful. All of us six gathered in a tight spot beneath the fern trees, suddenly loud noises were heard, and the sky had transformed from a dark and desolate space into a bright and welcoming world.

“Mummy!” I cried. Fireworks I did not like.
