What does 9/11 really mean to you?

Two days ago, 9/11/09, marked the eight year anniversary of the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. I enlisted into the Marine Corps a year and a half later because of that event. Itwas the most personal attact on U.S. soil since December 7, 1941, the attack on Pearl Harbor. We let down our guard after all the years, and it happened again. Hundreds of lives destroyed forever.
But, as one yet again, we retaliated and went after them. But, after all these years, have we not made our point, should we really still be over there or has it become another political debacle. We had a mission when we started this campaign, now no one even knows why we’re still over there. I believe we have made our point, so lets bring our troops home and let them live their lives like their fallen brothers never will be able to do.
9/11 will always be remembered, but aside from those families suffering, everyone just goes about their lives now because it’s been so long and troops, above all else, are starting to ask, why are we still over there? So, to get a better picture, I would like to ask you, does 9/11 still mean anything to you, and if so, what does it mean to you?
