Recently, a man from Arizona has bought a fruitcake through an online auction company in Ohio, United States (U.S.).

Fruitcake was bought for USD525. Proceeds will be donated to a homeless foundation in southwest Ohio.

Meanwhile, the auction company Elite Estate Group, sells fruitcake through his official website.

“The man who bought fruitcake is not to be named, and perhaps he bought it as an investment cake. I doubt anyone would want to eat fruitcake that although the 70-year-old rum contained in it may make it still can be eaten,” said the owner of Elite Estate Larry Chaney Group as reported by The Huffington Post, Sunday (25/12/2011).

For your information, fruitcake was made in 1941 by The Kroger Co.. Store managers are aware that the fruitcake is still stored neatly handed it to Chaney to be auctioned.
