Influences are significant. They direct the course of a person’s life. Inspirations and influences can guide a man to the right path as well as bring back an evil man to the correct way. My influence is no politician, no leader but a person who plunged into the valley of death to give me life, my dearest mother.

I drew my first breaths, opened my eyes and there I saw affection, utter devotion in the eyes of my mother holding me, comforting me with her tender touch. It was in this cradle, that I began my life and it were these hands that held me on firmly as I took my steps. It was her smile that carried me on through all hardships in life and what hardships they were. From educational hitches to family discomforts, my mother never let a single scratch affect me. While going through harsh grievances and difficulties, my mother also shadowed me with her love and devotion, protecting me from all troubles. Now that I stand as a person with my confidence, with my own voice, I still see my mother by my side urging me to greatness and picking me up every time I slip. It will be an understatement to declare that I owe a lot to my mother. In fact, my entire life, my achievements, are all part of my mother’s graciousness bestowed upon me.

In words of Abraham Lincoln, “I remember my mother’s prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all life.” Indeed, my mother’s blessings are my source of inspirations and directing aspirations. She has played a diverse role in my life, as a parent, as well as an inspiration and the greatest influence. I put myself in my mother’s shoes in hardships because I know she will make the correct decision. Such is the wisdom whose light I follow. Such is her resilience that she still smiles and laughs after all fluctuating fortunes she has undergone. Surely, I can have no better a role model than my mother. I want to live like her, follow her footsteps in every aspect of life and surely I will come out on top and conquer the world. My mother-my inspiration
