The mention of Vermont reminds me of maple syrup, Paul Bunyan and Life in the great outdoors.

Nicknamed the Green Mountain state with half of its western border taken up with Lake Champlain and New York State and Massachusetts to the south, New Hampshire looking east and the Canadian Province of Quebec to the north. The 2nd smallest and least populated state with no borders to the Atlantic Ocean. Vermont’s mottos are freedom and unity. It was originally inhabited by the Iroquois and Algonquin (Abenacki) Indian Tribes then conquered by the British in 1763 in a battle called the Seven Years War. Vermont became the 14th state in 1791 and the first to abolish slavery! As well as being the #1 producer of maple syrup in the USA they pride themselves in what they offer in their skiing and outdoor activities during all seasons for the tourists and residents alike! Snow skiing and boarding are always popular at resorts like Stowe, Burke Mountain Ski Area, Bolton Valley, Mad River Glen, Sugarbush, Smuggler’s Notch, Jay Peak, Stratton, Okema, Suicide Sis, Bromley, Snow and Magic Mountain Ski Area for a Lifetime of winter excursions. The sprawling resorts all over the state keep the tourists busy as well as the thankful employees and just ordinarypeople like you and me! I had the pleasure of befriending Darcia, a long time resident of Vermont, who tells it like this! “Vermont is bordered by Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire and Canada and is known as The Green Mountain State having beautiful mountains for as far as the eye can see with its Maples, White Birches and Evergreen trees!” “The fall season is incredible with colors ablaze like the yellows, reds, oranges and greens as the leaves do their thing! There is nothing like it anywhere else but Vermont. Winter comes early and stays late for the skiers and snow boarders delight!” “My home is in a small town of 37,000 with road construction all around but at the same time it is beautiful with grandstands in the park, church steeples rising above the trees, festivals, chickenbarbecues and a town fair are some of the the highlights of our small Town Add to this a community Family Feeling where the kids walk or ride their bikes to school and it is Safe to raise a Family!” Nice to know there are still towns like this in Vermont and elsewhere in the USA Darcia! Thanks!
