A word of wisdom for the newly graduates…

When people look at us, professors, students usually say “We can’t relate….we can’t relate to what they are currently going through.”

My say would be “not so long ago, I have a different set of eyes but similar set of shoes like yours.  Like you, I used to stare at the person speaking on the podium but half listening to the speech because my brain is rejoicing to the fact that I have survived the late night assignments that kept me at the weary hours of the morning, to the projects that I had enslaved just to finish on time, to the recitations that left me at the edge of my seat due to bullying of some professors and to the examinations that dictated if I would pass or not.  Thank God, I had finished it all but little did I knew, it’s not the end but merely just the end of the chapter in my life and a new one is about to start…

Up coming Graduates, if you will indulge me for a moment, let me paint a picture of what it’s like out there using my set of eyes right now and my current shoes. The last two or four years, for some of you, you’ve been living in a fantasyland, wearing rose colored glasses.

Once you graduate, the glasses comes off and for the first time you will see what I see now and what path I walk with my shoes. The strictness that we apply to you isn’t just being strict or bully but it’s a tough love application due to our own experiences.  We hoped to fully equipped you…armored you for the upcoming battle Were dungeons and dragons does exists in the form of bosses and unfulfilling jobs.

I know some of you will ask…”Where’s the inspiring words…?”  I have three quotes to give:

“Self-prophesy”

Believe in yourself…believe in the positive and do it and you will fulfill your own future. Never say your cant and will not because you will fulfill that… Saying it again and again to whatever you do and you will be a winner.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your permission.”

Life sometimes can be full of  challenges and sometimes we make mistakes and people go on to judge us, if people do try then just listen to the lesson but not to the putting down of your self-esteem because that will also bring down your dreams.

And figure out what makes you happiest.

I’m talking about living your passion.  This has nothing to do with making money, having a nice house or dating a supermodel.  It’s about doing what you love, so you never have to actually “work.”  Take the thing that makes you happiest and turn it into a career.  And also the reason why you have lived in this world.
