Summer love has always been seasonal…

The summer sun vicariously surrounds,
And the warm breeze tickles my mind,
As every playful thought abounds:
Our love seduced a season.
Your breath simmers upon my lips,
Like a settling August fog
Upon smooth-faced cliffs:
I am left misty and disoriented.
Your words lingered upon anxious ears,
And I cherished your every sentence,
Refusing to aknowledge my fears:
I became deaf to tomorrow.
Your touch moved me beyond measure,
Like a progressive, rolling lovequake,
With aftershocks of pleasure:
Forever I will be shaken.
Our time together was an emotional swirl,
With gusts of sheer perfection
In a sea of romantic whirl:
We rode waves of pure frustration.
Your goodbye still hovers,
Like toxic clouds
Trickling rain upon lovers:
That was the beginning of my storm.
This summer love had no recourse,
As seasonal entities seldom do,
And there is no time for remorse:
I step out into the wintery chill.
