This is just a list of little things I think about throughout the day. I think you will appreciate some of the things I mention.

Now that you are so accustomed to your daily ritual, let me spice it up for you. This is one simple day that has gone awry in my head. (unless I’m the only person with these “rituals”, but they seem pretty common to me)

During the Shower:

While I was taking a shower, I realized I use the same body pouf over and over again every day for about a week (sometimes more). I wash my pouf every-so-often and it has just been a ritual. I never truly thought about how I’ve been soaping up every day with yesterday’s bacteria. I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this.

Another thing I noticed while I was in the shower was the fact that everyone has been rubbing their hands or body pouf on the bar soap. I have now decided that if I want to use bar soap, I will have my own secret bar that nobody else can touch.

After the Shower:

Now that the shower is done, there are still many other things I’m sure you haven’t noticed. When you step out of the shower, what do you step on? Another towel, a rug, carpet? I step out on to a bath rug. Yes I wash the rug, but only about 1-2 times a month. How often do you wash yours? And if you step out on to carpet while you are wet, I sure hope it hasn’t mildewed yet because now you have a chance to prevent that.

When you grab for a towel after your shower, do you use a new one every day, or the same one for a few days then replace it? I use the same towel every day for about 5 days then wash it and replace it with a fresh one. It’s not like this is going to kill me, it’s just something I noticed that probably isn’t entirely sanitary.

After you get your clothes on, you decide to brush your teeth. If you live by yourself, this isn’t a problem. When one person wets their toothbrush and puts toothpaste on it, they rub the tip of the tube of toothpaste on their bristles. Then when you squeeze out your toothpaste, you do the same thing…day after day after day. That’s how many of us spread germs and get sick. It’s something that you would never think about, yet something that can make a world of difference when someone in the house is sick.
