A Star Is Born!!!  That’s my title 2nite.  Nope, I’m not going to review the Barbra Streisand & Kris K’s movie from way back, nor go further back with Judy Garland’s version.  Nosiree!! What I’m saying is ME – I’m the Star ‘cos my face is going to be plastered all over the world.

You see, Mama D (remember my mistress??) has broadcasted my Blog to all her long-lost relatives and friends from as far as UK, Australia and the US of A.  So, my ugly mugshot’s gonna be seen by a whole lotta people.  I’m going to be as famous as Kevin Cowherd.  You know, the very famous award-winning (or should I say awards-winning) humour columnist and feature writer for the Baltimore Sun.  Mama D just loves to read his column.

Years and years ago, when she first came across this wise-cracking writer in one of her country’s newspapers, the first impression she had was that he sure was cocky (pardon the expression!).  But as time goes by, his anecdotes really sank in. So, by and by, she would really look forward to his column.  But one day, it stopped – no more publications.  And, you have to remember, computers weren’t the “in” thing in those days.  So, Mama D despaired ‘cos his column sure perked her up – especially when she’s had a “bad” day.  And boy, does she have a lot of “bad” days – you know, with demanding bosses, inconsiderate boyfriends, boring television programmes (no DVDs in those days, heck not even VCDs and especially no personal computers) and so on and so forth.

Anyway, to cut the story short, she loves the man and his writings – somehow it lifts her spirit up, reading about his escapades (it’s prone to exaggeration most of the time).  But they were hilarious, those stories.  So, you can imagine her joy when his column returned to the press.  Now, I am happy to report that when a chuckle or two escapes from Mama D’s lips, it’s probably because she’s reading his column.

Now, I hope to be as good as he is someday – to be able to CONNECT and cheer people up, ‘cos alot of people needs cheering up, don’t you agree?  Hey, I’m talking to you – I haven’t bored you to tears yet with my ramblings, have I?  I know I’m a little wordy, but then I’m a dog, so excuse me…….Whoops!

Forgot to include a few facts about “yours truly” in my last post.  Let me correct that.  My name is AKITA.  But I’m not from the Akita breed.  I’m a kind of part Border Collie and whatever.  My brothers and sisters were gorgeous when they were puppies, but Mama D saw my pathetic little frame, picked me up and here I am 3 years later, having my own BLOG.

This is the life – gonna be as famous as Garfield and Hobbes.  Yep!  Mama D’s favorite cartoon strips, Garfield and Calvin & Hobbes.  One’s a Cat, the other’s a Tiger.  I’m in great company.  All loved by Mama D!
