How would a world be without real numbers?

Real numbers are basically the typical numbers you use everyday. Without them, the world would be lost. We would try to figure out how many eggs we would need to make scrambled eggs for a couple people, the conversation would go like this: “How many eggs did you say you want?” “Ummm….” Everyone would be having a very hard time without real numbers.

There are two categories of real numbers, which are rational and irrational. The rational numbers are the ones that can be put into fractions and/or ratios. If they are decimals, then the decimal either repeats or terminates. There are three different sections of numbers in the rational category: natural numbers, whole numbers, and integers. In the category irrational, the numbers are decimals that never end, but they also do not repeat. They cannot be put into fractions or ratios.

Real numbers, when graphed on a number line, have only one point on the number line where they are supposed to be. Also, vice versa: for every point on a number line, there is exactly one real number to go with it.

So, as you can see, there are times every single day where you need to use real numbers. In this essay itself, there are 11 instances where I had to use real numbers to express something. Such as the date and how many categories of reals numbers there are. We would not be able to do much without real numbers, so thank goodness for their existence.
