                                                Advertising Mascots

What makes people remember a certain food product? Is it taste? Can it be the shape or smell of the food? None of these are correct. Everybody remembers a food by its mascot. A myriad of products are represented by a mascot. Toucan Sam represents the kid-friendly cereal, Froot Loops. Ronald McDonald represents one of the most popular fast food chains in America, Micdonald’s. The ever-popular sweet red drink called Kool Aid is represented by the Kool-Aid Man. Hawaiian Punch is represented by Punchy. Even the soda Fanta has a mascot, in this case mascots. The fantanas, a group of beautiful mascots, represent Fanta.

Toucan Sam is the face of Froot Loops. Seen in many commercials, Toucan Sam is a blue cartoon toucan with a striped beak. Toucan Sam was created by Manuel R. Vega and originally voiced by Mel Blanc. In most of the Froot Loops commercials, Toucan Sam and his toucan nephews Puey, Susey, and Louis are protecting the cereal from falling into the wrong hands. To provide a good influence for kids, Toucan Sam is seen as a good-natured bird that always shares his froot loops with his nephews.
