Advice Column for Paul Baumer of All Quiet on the Western Front.

Advice Column

Dear Advice Columnist,

Everyday I watch my friends die horrendous deaths. There is little food and we are poorly equipped. I am alone in this hell. Yesterday I carried a man to an aid station. Five minutes after we had a conversation where he seemed all right, he was dead. The frustration to make it to the aid station only for him to die in that short time is torture in a cruel way. If God is with us, why are we punished this way?

Thanks

 Dear Soldier,

Hang tough! Remember what you fight for! There is tyranny in the world and sacrifice is necessary to fight it. The whole nation is making sacrifices for the war effort. Know that your sacrifice and your comrades is unbelievably appreciated by the whole nation. Victory is within reach!

            Yours Truly,
