I originally thought to do this as a parody of “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” that is, aliens coming not to save us from nuclear destruction or, as in “War of the Worlds,” and “Independence Day,” actually destroy us, but rather enforce with superior alien intelligence an economic system as advanced as all their other systems.

Plainly capitalism vs. communism and all the other systems aren’t working. But since I last looked at this (2 years plus! Have I been kidnapped by aliens?) I’ve changed my mind about aliens and money. I think its the aliens that keep the Earth impoverished for the most part, funneling so much to their buddies the billionaires and millionaires. Sure, they could straighten out our financial affairs but they won’t because they benefit from the chaos. And, the thing is, there is no solution. Souls incarnate on Earth in order to learn lessons and poverty is post-doctoral level work. Really, have Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, or certainly Barack Obama, learned anything through their affluence?

Now I’m not trumpetring the old rich man and eye of a needle thing. I think what that really means is you can’t get into heaven with the riches of attachment. I do think wealth can be a distraction which is why I have scrupulously avoided winning the lottery these last 35 years. (I can keep my focus now God, really, I can).

So, there are aliens, there are rich people and there are poor people and lots of people in between. If you believe the aliens originally came to Earth to enslave us to mine gold for them, well, is it such a stretch to think they’ve been enslaving us ever since? Profiting from our production of ipads in some devious way? This is going to take more thought, as Obama is starting to discover, as Johnson did with the Great Society. You can’t give money away because people will just blow it and yet you can’t let robber barons and evil corporations pollute the planet etc etc.

Let the resistance begin.
