The President wants everyone to go back to school. We have a lot of single moms out there with no place to turn except to our government for help, which is understandable, but it has become a cycle. It is a cycle that must be broken!
All This Hype To Go Back To School

Our President has the right idea, since I believe Education is the Key to everyone’s future!
How can you expect a young mother, with a newborn; to be able to work go to school and care for her baby? It is impossible for the average single person to care for their kids, go to school and work to feed the family.
Going back to school after the kids are grown up and on their own; that is a great idea!Going directly from High School right into College is the smart thing to do; but a single mom it is not so easy.
As it is a vicious cycle, our government provides income, WIC, food stamps, medical care, and there are homes for single moms, this it the normal cycle; but how do we break the cycle?
According to the President, go back to school; excuse me is someone not seeing the entire picture. The question again is, who is going to deal the newborn, while a new mom goes to school. Instead of just promoting school, we need to find a way to break the cycle and get these young women educated, employed and self sufficient, including day-care until their child is ready for school.
Since the government is so gracefully handing out money for them to stay home, then perhaps a program can be put together similar to a foster care program. A program where an experience daycare provider/homemaker; takes in the mother and child into her home, with a moderate cash allowance. This provider would be like the grandmother, she could help with the baby, while the young mother, went looking and obtaining employment. If she finds employment then she would pay a small fee to the provider, not only for watching the baby and cooking but for providing a roof over their heads. A system such as this would provide a family/bonding environment, while teaching the mother a little more responsibility.

If the young woman decides to go back to school, then the provider will have to be happy with what is provided by the state. I think this idea would work and be more cost effective in the long run, since housing and income would be eliminated and perhaps the food stamps could be cut in half.
I know this all looks and sounds good on paper, at least to me, since I do know a lot of woman who are in the mid-fifties who have the room to provide a young woman with an infant a loving home. Most older woman, especially if they are living alone would love the opportunity to stay home and enjoy watching a baby over come each of their milestone, as his or her mother was given the opportunity to better herself. In the end this would make for a confident mother, a happy child and the vicious cycle of “give me”, and “you owe me”; could end.
