Once the pollen enters your nose it will encounter your immune system and become mistaken as a foreign invader. It releases antibodies which are formally known for killing viruses and bacteria from actually being sick.

Are seasonal allergies permanent?
Seasonal allergies are not permanent. They can come at any time during the spring. Just because you never had it for five years, doesn’t mean you won’t have it the next year. People get seasonal allergies because their body is lacking a certain amount of Vitamin C. So the reason of you not having the allergies for those five years could have been because you had the proper amount of Vitamin C inside of you. However the next year you may not have enough. Seasonal allergies can come and go, it depends on the amount of Vitamin C in your body during spring.
How can your allergies reduce without medication?
The intensity of your allergies depends on the amount of pollen released into the air on that particular day. If there is a lot of pollen being released into the air, your allergies will be very crucial. However if not much pollen is released into the air, then your allergies will be manageable, however it will still have to be endured until spring is over.
How can you manage/avoid spring allergies?
Only go outside when necessary, especially try avoid going outside when there is a lot of pollen being released into the air that day.
Make sure your windows and doors are closed to avoid pollen entering your home.
Clean bookshelves and vacuum on a weekly basis especially in the spots where pollen can be collected in.
Overall, in conclusion, allergies are close to the equivalence of being sick. However you don’t really have germs inside you, the antigens mistake it for being germs. Allergies last for an entire season, while being sick can last to as short as three days. It’s easy to talk about allergies, but once you experience them you know the exact feeling of having them day after day for three months.
