An imitation of Henry David Thoreau, who links between nature and humanity.

Ever since I moved away from civilization, I have been surrounded by the sheer beauty of nature. Every day I see something in nature and wonder why man wanted buildings and streets when they could have the lush greenery of the forest. I see animals, like deer and such; I see trees and mountains. But today I saw something quite simple, but also something quite amazing. I was wandering through the forest as I usually do, and I heard something almost like thunder, so I followed it. When I reached the source of the thunderous crashing, I realized how astonishing it was. How can something so simple as a waterfall, be so mesmerizing? The brilliance of the shimmering water made me wonder why humans want such things and cars and large cities when they can have nature. Anger and greed can overwhelm a person when they live in a city, but all one can feel is happiness and fulfillment when they step into nature. One thing I’ve noticed while being out here is that every person you see has a smile on their face, and never think twice about saying hello. People in the city are always talking on their cell phones, they don’t bother say hello to someone walking on the same sidewalk. The city will destroy a person

Nevertheless, almost the instant I saw the water fall, I wanted to jump in. Never was anything as refreshing as when I jumped in and stood under the falling water. Not even a warm shower after a long day at work this refreshing.

Have you ever had one of those moments of great realization? Where you realize something that you have been thinking about for a very long time. And when you finally see it, you think, why didn’t I think of this before. Well that’s what happened to me when I was standing there under the waterfall. I realized why the birds and various animals run away from the city. It’s the same reason I did…why they would live in a corrupt city when they could live in the peace and harmony of nature.

Explanation:
In the Final Response I tried to imitate Henry David Thoreau. I imitated him by showing the reader how the spread of technology and civilization has damaged the close link between nature and humanity.
