A thoughtless act stirs misery for one man’s family.
A man in his seventies has received a letter of apology from the NHS in England regarding his treatment.
You haven’t read the worst of it.
The man, undergoing treatment for leukaemia died three and a half years ago.
Yes, you read that right folks, the man died three and a half years ago.
I have a couple of questions.
What’s wrong with the admin staff?
Was the person dealing with correspondence not feeling very well the day they sent the letter out?
It beggars belief that it appears no one checked their facts before folding the letter and placing it in an envelope and mailing it.
There’s one simple rule that stops people looking imprudent, if in doubt, ask. Okay so that’s more of an adage than a rule but it still stands.
But then I’m not the insensitive and tactless idiot that sends letters to dead people.
You’d think with the salaries these staff are being paid to run the NHS it wouldn’t be out of their pay grade to actually check a fact or two.
This may have avoided an unbelievably thoughtless action to one man’s surviving relatives thus saving them grief and the reopening of their memories of no doubt a sad time in their lives. .
It’s called having a care and just that touch of forethought before ones actions.

But, you know, that’s just my way of thinking.
