I don’t think there is such a thing as people being slow or stupid but I do think people need to learn at their own pace.  We all have a certain density or thickness about us.  No one knows everything although some people think they do.  And some people don’t see most things as clearly as others. And for these reasons people put these labels on us because, they are not going to sit around waiting for us to fully understand or to get our heads into the game.  Back in the day when you could not keep in the classroom people labeled you as slow, stupid, or ignorant.  Nowadays we label you nicer things like dyslexic, or ADD.  Some people care about the labeling and some people don’t.  Which is a good thing if you don’t care, because if I could have it my way and being the laid back, care free type of person, if I were in charge and you could not pass third grade, I would say no problem.  Look, we do not want to stress you out at such a young age, because that causes heart attacks.  I say we will just keep you in third grade until you are ready to move on.  Who knows you may be 37 yrs old before you pass third grade.  My point is wherever you are in your life, you can learn whatever is presented to you, it just might take you longer.  You have to be patient with yourself and don’t let outside interruptions interfere.  Don’t let people tell you what you can or cannot do.
