As mobile phone usage increases, and as the machines themselves develop develop, it’s about time to look at how they are damaging society.
It’s almost impossible to go outside now in public for any longer than 10 minutes without hearing an annoying ringtone, an incoming text message or someone talking on their mobile phone. It used to be a novel thing, something amazing to see. Then as mobile phones spread, it became extremely cool to have polyphonic ringtones. Thousands of people ordered the now infuriating “Crazy Frog” ringtone, but it was massive then.
Now, wherever we go, people are using their mobile phones to take pictures or videos of people, which really is an enormous violation of our privacy. We can no longer go out in public without being watched, photographed or video-taped by people that we don’t even know.
Not only is our privacy being invaded, but we also have to deal with the annoying people who refuse to turn their phones off at all. 15 years ago, cinemas were actually quiet. Now, regardless of the warnings before movies, we have to control ourselves making sure we don’t down take matters in to our hands. The worst part of this is, these are the people who kick your seat and ask you to be quiet if you start coughing or blowing your nose.
Life would just be so much simpler and better without mobile phones, we could leave our own lives separate from that of other people, and we wouldn’t have to be worried about what other people could be doing at any time.
