Women are traditionally thought to be more emotional than men, but there are studies that refute this.

According to psychologist Anthony Greenwald and his colleagues at the Ohio State University tested 48 men and 48 women to see who remembered emotion loaded words better. Since earlier findings revealed that the more emotional an event is, the more likely it is to be remembered, the research deduced that the women would recall the words better than men if they were indeed the more emotional sex. However, the men did as well.

The study concludes that women aren’t more likely to respond emotionally to any event than men; they’re just more likely to describe it in emotional terms.
