My name is Private “Gonzalez” Born on April 07, 1983 in Miami, Florida, raised in La Paz, Bolivia. I was recruited By U.S. army at the beginning of June 2007, shipped out to boot camp one week later June 11, 2007 not enough time for anything.
Thinking the benefits, education and possibilities where unlimited I signed my life to be now owned by the U.S. government: Basic training was a demanding position to fulfill in Fort Benning, Ga. Home of the infantry. Accomplished, with no time to go home, I immediately began my A.I.T. work training for communications.
During Graduation, my wife and I had several hours together, which gave me strength to continue my mission. I recommend if you stay in Fort Benning, Georgia to visit a soldier, do research on cab fares and companies, we spent a fortune. We saved on cabin at Uchee creek, but we paid in cab fare. Furthermore Uchee creek is romantic, however located in the middle of nowhere.
Boot camp is a Physically demanding challenge of ten weeks intense training: you must be mentally, physically and spiritually ready to take on this challenge to graduate and proceed to the next level. During my training I sprained my ankle and was transferred platoons, this set me back, but I was determined to graduate when scheduled, just to see my wife. I realize later, I had signed up to the military at a time of war. In Fort Benning, Ga they mentally prepare you, for just that, WAR. It was extremely stressful to me, because I had just married the love of my life. There’s no way I want to go to war and leave the woman I love and live for, behind. I live and breath for her and that is why I am in the army now, to fulfill our dreams together, yet we aren’t together. Separated by the Army.
Now it makes no sense to me, I am sure there are many ways I can think of making money, but the pressure of my recruiter was convincing, not just to my wife, also to me.
My suggestion is – sleep on it for days, I didn’t have that chance.
If I live to love my wife, then why all this fuzz, if I am separated from her.
How will I give her what she needs, if I am not physically there to nurture her well being, seems to me it’s a waist of time, time we could have spent together…
When you learn that money does not brings happiness, you to will stop war…
I present my battle, love or death: I pick love that is worth more than all the money in the world – that is love.
No war is worth the love one shares with another human being.
I arrive to my new station Fort Gordon, Ga for A.I.T work training communications. According to Army rules and regulations, they must be doing their job, because I just want to be home with my wife.
There is nothing peaches and cream about the Army lifestyle.
So think twice before you act, especially if have loved ones.
Otherwise go for it!
