Why nature should never be called Works of Art!
Art cannot conjure nature. A distinction must be made between the two. Contrary to the perception of those who do not know, nature should never be called works of art.
To further illustrate my point, compare the painting of an exquisite rose to a rose growing in the garden.
What’s the difference? Of course, the answer is noticeable. The painting of a rose has no life compared the real one in the garden. The one that abounds in life and vitality.
Work of art enjoys an everlasting beauty. It never has to experience the harsh reality of life, like wilting, as in the case of the living rose. However, works of art never did get the chance to experience the joy of living.
The fact remains that even the greatest artist in the world cannot duplicate the real and living flower. He may come up with an exact likeness but it is still man-made. It doesn’t have life. Even a photograph, it only serves as a record of the subject or a scene.
Art sprang forth from the depths of man’s exemplary artistic ability. It is non-repeatable and unchanging.
Nature is way too different, it is evanescent and always recreating itself. The product of one of life’s deepest mysteries,as deep as the Creator Himself.
