There’s nothing worse than going back in time when you’re trying to overcome the procrastinator in you. How can you kick the habit, or just make it work for you?

Ok. So I’ve been m.i.a for awhile. It has been my goal to write a blog post at least once everyday. I started of good, and then petered out. I told myself I’d get to it. And of course the procrastinator in me would not be stifled. Not even a little bit.

Until now.

I’m back. And I don’t plan to let procrastination get the best of me…again. At least this week. We’re going to take this one step at a time. In any event, I feel like I have moved forward on my goals. I’ve started my handbag sample. It isn’t complete because I’m on a step that needs more attention. I’m working on creating an applique for the front of the handbag, and applying it before i move forward to assembling the handbag together.

I also start a new ‘job’ today. I’ll be playing chauffeur to a couple of young school girls to their after school programs. I’m looking forward to that actually. A little extra cash to fund my entrepreneurial efforts wont hurt at all.

I also need to pick up a fresh notebook. I’ll be dedicating that to business planning. It’s a good way to stay organized, and keep plans consolidated into one area, instead of having scraps of paper floating around and notes in multiple notebooks and journals.

Something else I’ve added back to my ‘to do’ list, is painting. I’m brainstorming another piece, and i’m playing around with creating a rose. It’s more complicated than it looks.

So maybe falling off the proverbial horse did me a little good. It helped me gather my thoughts, and regain focus. When we back step, it’s important that when we do find our footing again that we make (or made) that pause in our life count for something. An we’re not just wasting time. I can’t help but call to mind the new song/phrase by Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye, “Who Gon’ Run This Town Tonight?” I’m asking myself who gon’ run my life tonight? ME! Not time, not life, not chance. It’s important to know what you are doing, what you want, what your goal is, and what that next step is going to be. In that way you’re guiding yourself. You’re making the choices, and not leaving it hanging in the balance, or having a we’ll see what happens attitude.
