Did you know that everyday 150 boots and gloves that are manufactured and bought by us consumers are the dead bodies of innocent newborn seals? The dead bodies were once drenched in a pool of blood and now worn by us.
Imagine seeing a newborn child only about three months old whacked with a huge club on the head, his blood is flowing like a river all over the place, and after sometime of pain and agony, he dies. Can you feel how badly that child is suffering? Can you think of how miserable the child’s parents might be feeling? Ouch! That’s probably what comes to your mind when you imagine this. But this has become a usual matter for Canadian seals, since there is a sport in which newborn seals are hit on the head with a huge club. Then, those lifeless seals are used to make waterproof gloves and seal skin boots. It sure is a sport in which an innocent child who has just entered the world is brutally murdered. I am absolutely against this sport and through this essay I will tell you why the Canadian seal slaughter should be banned.
Is a person’s life more important than waterproof gloves and seal skin boots, of course it is, but is a seal’s life more important than a pair of gloves and boots? I think it is, but many people don’t, since they’ve been murdering seals, so that they can make gloves and boots out of them and then sell them. And we buy these things. You might have one of those waterproof gloves which have been made from the innocent lifeless seals. The murderers that kill the seals must be enjoying, selling gloves and boots since their business must be flourishing. By slaughtering one newborn seal, those murderers separate a child from their parents forever. The parents of that seal would be so depressed after seeing their child die in front of their own eyes, not being able to do anything to save them. Are gloves and boots so important?
Soap, paint, detergent, toothpaste, plastics and cosmetics are all products that we get from animals. We get so many products from animals that we need in our lives. So it actually doesn’t matter if we get one more thing from animals. Why shouldn’t they be banned as well then? Well for one thing soap, detergent, toothpaste and plastics are things we need for daily life. Cosmetics and paints aren’t too important just like waterproof gloves and seal skin boots. People can buy normal boots and normal gloves, why do they need waterproof gloves and seal skin boots made from seals?Seal skin boots and waterproof gloves can be made synthetically as well, its just that it would take them more money to manufacture these goods that way. Well I guess I forgot that in today’s world nobody cares about a bunch of seals in front of thier money since we do live in a selfish world. On the other hand, the baby seals are killed in such a brutal, cruel and nasty way. Plus who are we to snatch a newborn’s right to live? Who are we to decide someone’s death? Who are we to steal a seal’s happiness? Seals have the full right to live and we can’t seize this right from them.
