Is this the way to explain away your past relationships? We just lived in the same area, worked on the same board and had some of the same friends.

This is an election year and we have many a person that will be voting for the first time. Many of these first time voters will be voting simply because of the candidate. I remember when a lot of young people were protesting the Viet Nam war and I, also, remember several students being killed because of a demonstration. I, personally, had family members in the military at that time and a couple of young men that I knew from my own neighborhood and school were killed. Frankie was a medic and I remember playing basketball with him outside our home and my dad was very upset. He did not think it appropriate for a boy and girl to be playing basketball together. Frankie was killed on February 14, 1968 and I did not get to attend his funeral but every February 14, I think of him. I was informed later that a young man I attended school with had been shot and died in May, 1968. Why am I bringing up this about the Viet Nam era? What is happening today reminds me of that time. We are going through a financial crisis at this time. The government is stepping in to control the free market. It does not matter that the American people did not want this bailout, they did it anyway. The Viet Nam war was a political war and left a blotch on our history that we should never forget. We left Viet Nam and a lot of innocent people died because of our leaving the way we did. Now we are into another war that is not popular but the same political party that got us involved in the Viet Nam war wants us to leave before the job is done. Maybe a lot of people believe we entered into Iraq for the wrong reasons but we in no way can leave until the governing bodies of Iraq can handle the responsibilty. Everyone that believes we can just pack up and leave without this taking place does not have their head screwed on right. Do you know how many countries our military is still in helping to keep peace?

We have several candidates running for election to become president of this great country, however, the media is focused on the two main parties. The one particular candidate that has served his country honorably is being smeared wrongfully by the opposing party. The other candidate has many persons in his background that leaves his character very questionable. The biased media in this country has investigated, smeared and tried to destroy the VP candidate of the republican party. If you do not think the media is biased for one particular party in this country, then you must have your head buried in the sand. The media wants to choose the person they want for president. Even foreign countries want to decide who the president will be in the U.S.A..
