Easy drills to improve your hitting in baseball.
There are many drills out there that you can do to help you out at hitting in baseball but not all work or are fun. A great way to improve your hitting is to hit off of a tee. I know you may think it’s to easy and it wont help but trust me it helps your hand-eye coordination a lot and is a great way to improve your contact at the plate. Move the tee around to simulate a new location of a pitch each time. During this drill work on hitting the right part of the ball. You don’t want to hit the top and hit a grounder of hit the bottom and pop out, you want to hit just below the middle to hit a line drive. Do this drill a few times a week and your batting average will increase in no time. A good way to improve your power at the plate is to do a soft toss drill. This requires 2 people and it is when the person who is not hitting kneels down next to the hitter and tosses the ball gently at the hitters front knee (make sure you’re far enough away from the hitter so you don’t get hurt). This drill forces the hitter to follow through on his swing by turning his hips to drive the ball. It also helps the hitter learn how to hit the ball to all parts of the field. Since you have a lot of time to react to the ball work on trying to drive the ball to all parts of the field. Doing this drill a few times a week will make you more of a power hitter in no time. Finally, get someone to go to a nearby field with you and throw you batting practice. There is no better way to see how you are improving then to test yourself in batting practice.
