I cannot teach my child EVERYTHING so I must release her to those who can teach her what I cannot.

We are our child’s first teachers.  We teach them to walk.  We teach them to talk.  We teach them even how to use the potty.  We are our child’s first teachers and the job is not easy.  It is our responsibility to teach them right from wrong so that when their world expands further than us, and it will, they will be prepared.

We are nervous, but proud on their first day of pre-school, kindergarden, elementary school, middle school and high school.  We understand that there are just some things that we cannot teach them ourselves and we are okay about it.

After high school, there are a number of roads they can take.  If college is the route they take, we are so proud… Extremely proud.  We release our babies to the professors because we know nothing about meteorology, we know nothing about medicine.  We know absolutley nothing about engineering so we proudly release them to the professors believing they will teach our babies what they need to learn.

If the military is the route they choose, we are so proud…. extremely proud.  We release our babies to the officers, to the commanders because we know nothing about fighting, we know nothing about weapontry, we know even less about what the military really offers so we prouldy release them to the officers so that they can teach them what we cannot.

We even proudly release our children to the workforce to learn about jobs and careers of their choices.  We must because these lessons, these life lessons they must learn from another.

Why don’t we proudly release our babies to the streets because this too is THEIR choice?  Jeremiah 29:11 says that God knows the plan he has for our lives and that plan is for good and not disaster.  God knows that in order to be a meteorologist, doctor, engineer, soldier, there are some lessons one MUST learn.  God also knows that in order to be a powerful woman/man of God, there are some life lessons one MUST learn as well.  He knows that an addict will truly receive from someone who has been delivered from the same addiction.  He knows that only a child who has been through the system can truly minister to those young people who are now in the system.  These are just some life lessons they must learn.  Some lessons we cannot teach.

Because we can’t teach them Everything, we must release them to the teachers who can.  Because we can’t teach them ALL of live’s lessons, we must release them to the teachers who can.  Are all the lessons easy lessons for us?  Absolutely not!  However, God said that he will never leave us nor forsake us… even during our child’s lessons.
