First, we got a couch cushion and put it on the floor in the center of the room, then Mrs. Moran rolled a marble across the surface of the cushion, it rolled across and fell of the other side of the cushion. Then she called up chandler and told him to step on the cushion. By stepping on the cushion his foot made a dent in it. Then, she rolled the marble across the cushion again, but this time the marble curved towards chandler’s foot. We tried it again, and the marble curved in then spun halfway around Chandler’s foot on the cushion.

The cushion in this experiment is supposed to represent space, and chandler’s foot represents the sun. The marble is the earth. When the marble is rolled towards the indent in the cushion it revolves around the center of the indent, (the sun) much like earth. This is a basic example General relativity. I though that this was an interesting lab with good results.
