When I made the choices of subtopics, I had a feeling clothing would be on top. Why? Because it is also the main debate in the world of punishment spankings. I’d like to start by giving a bit of background on the subject. When leaving comments, remember that we are talking about playful birthday spankings, not punishment. Also, remember that clothing being debated doesn’t always mean that it’s about whether or not to bare the bottom. In several stories I was told it was about just the pants being down or being told to wear a certain type of clothing. There are two main reasons why clothing is sometimes taken down during a birthday spanking.

1. Sometimes a child is told to get completely naked before they present themselves for the birthday spanking. The reason for this is usually that it resembles the clothing that was worn on the child’s actual birth day.

2. Sometimes the child is just told to take down certain clothes. This is usually done to resemble how a spanking is normally done. For that reason I don’t recommend doing it. Remember that a birthday spanking is supposed to be a fun experience for the child. For that reason I don’t feel like it should resemble a punishment in any way except the general idea that it is a spanking. Some parents have the child present themselves fully clothed and then the parent pulls down the clothes. Although I still disagree with it if it is to resemble a normal spanking I do agree with the principle. I believe the principle of this is to show the child that even they are a year older they still are not in control.

In general, the debate is that having clothing taken down or not having any on for the spanking may cause the spanking to be more humiliating. For that reason I believe it should only be done as long as the child is okay with it. Also, they should be asked each year if they are okay with it. Just because a child has no problem being bared at the age of seven doesn’t mean they won’t have a problem with it once they turn about eleven. Note that sometimes with puberty comes modesty issues, so it may be extremely humiliating as they get older even though it was fine when they were young.

So bottom line, my opinion is that the birthday suit is no problem as long as the child doesn’t feel humiliated, and taking down clothing is fine as long as the purpose isn’t to resemble a normal spanking.
