Of the eight remaining contestants on the Voice we have six women and two men. Is there a bias toward the female contestants.

.

Blake Sheldon choose a  relative inexperienced attractive young girl, Xenia because he probably feels he can “mold” her  into a star. Granted, Xenia does have a great tone but her confidence needs to be developed which may take years, after all, she is only 16. He rejected the men on the basis that he can’t do anything with them. In other words so long talent hello “maybe I can make you into a star” Completing his team is Dia Frampton who was chosen by the voters over the very talented male competitors.

Christina, on the other hand chose an all female team from the blind auditions so she didn’t have to make this kind of choice. She has 2 strong professional female singers but it remains to be seen if voters will choose talent or good looks.  Perhaps the plus sized bald, beautiful and talented women, Frenchie and Beverley on Team Christina, may finally have their day, but who knows how the votes will go.

On  Cee Lo’s team he has the strong soulful singer Vicci Martinez chosen by the voters and Nakia, the contestant who sang his way into Cee Lo’s heart with a rendition of Cee Lo’s song “Forget You”   For  Adam’s team, it was a real surprise when he also rejected the strong male singers for the young , beautiful and less talented Casey Weston. Javier Colon has great talent and was luckily selected by votes otherwise I suspect he may have been rejected by his coach.

Of the 8 remaining preformers heading into the semi finals we have 6 women and 2 men. Well this may be a good  thing. After all one major complaint I hear about American Idol, is the judges and voters perceived bias against  female competitors especially the female soul singers. Anyone wonders why none of the talented country singers were chosen by the voters or their coaches? Blake Sheldon, come on!
