How easy it is for Liberal to ignore what is right before their eyes.
Last week, MoveOn.org, the radical left-wing group sent an e-mail to its members.
The first paragraph said: “It sounds like something Glenn Beck would cook up: a powerful cabal of right-wing ideologues hatches a secret plan to force cuts to Social Security and Medicare.”
Those words are probably enough to make the hair stand straight up on the neck of every liberal head.
What happened? Did Bush and Cheney sneak into the White House and somehow take over? Did Nancy Pelosi completely lose her mind and start pushing common sense bills through the House? Did Harry Reid and the another twenty or so Democrat senators suddenly decide to resign and spend more time with the family?
No, none of the above.
The “powerful right-wing cabal” MoveOn is referencing is the “deficit commission” appointed by their president, Mr. Obama.
MoveOn specifically tars the commission’s co-chairman Erskine Bowles. Bowles is such a far right, foaming at the mouth conservative that his last government job was Chief of Staff for that other well-know conservative, Bill Clinton. No wonder the Libs are going nuts.
According to MoveOn, the need for this commission is,” the public anxiety over the economy on the deficit – even though the deficit is almost entirely a result of Bush cutting taxes for the rich.”
Apparently MoveOn’s staff was out of the country when Obama and company passed the “Stimulus Bill,” the one where almost a trillion dollars of borrowed – adding right to the deficit- money was flushed down the drain with virtually no positive effect on the economy.
Apparently, MoveOn somehow missed the borrowed billions Obama wasted taking over a major portion of the auto industry or the billions more squandered on other corporate bailouts.
The purpose of MoveOn’s e-mail was, of course, to raise money. This time to combat the draconian recommendations their president’s commission might submit.
MoveOn’s last big fundraiser was to insure that Arkansas Senator Lincoln lost in the recent Democrat primary election.
Hopefully they will be just as successfully this time.
