Bombs Away!
Pakistan has been labeled as one of the most dangerous countries to live in and Karachi has been termed as THE most dangerous city to live in… well according to CNN anyway. But I mean you can’t really blame people for assuming these are dangerous places to be living in, what with bombs being thrown left, right, and center! Taking in account the recent example of the bomb blast in the CID building in which led to around 20 people being killed and more than 140 people being injured.
An interesting article in the Daily Times refers to this bomb blast and how several people have been killed and injured, however the main focus of that article was about the possible decrease in room occupancy in the hotels of Karachi, seeing that the bomb blast did take place in that area where the popular hotels are. it appears that these people-whoever these “people” are-are more concerned with their businesses going down; as they are afraid that there will be less foreigners and less local businessmen coming to their hotels for a while due to the insecurity the bomb blast has shed in the city, and they are less concerned with the fact that innocent people are dying all the time due to these damned suicide bombers! Personally, it’s a bit crazy of them to be so worried about their business because if in fact there are more bombs to come and these snooty hotel managers and owners expect people to STILL reside in their hotels, so if you think about it and put two and two together, then they themselves are responsible for the lives that could be lost in these bomb blasts. Sounds a bit far-fetched? I guess, maybe a little, but everyone has their responsibilities and some shred of decency and humanity. I’m afraid most people these days are too selfish to even think about the death and destruction in the world and are more focused on themselves and their own needs…even during the times of deaths of several people around them. How are we living in such a world?
