This section of the book explains about how Linus Pauling got a partnership at the California Institute of Technology. This is where he worked with Dr. Noyes and a selected staff of nine other brilliant individuals. In this setting, he worked hard to figure more out about atoms, mostly about how different molecules had different arrangements. During his partnership, he managed to save up $25 and he bought a car, an old Ford. With his new car, he drove all the way back to his old college in Oregon and got married to Ava Helen, who he met while teaching a class. He also made arrangements to study with many European scientists, and to top it off he received a letter asking him to be an assistant professor of chemistry.
