       Breaking The Cycle

Tonight was interesting we tried to run an intervention it was crazy. The only thing is it brought me to a lot of answers for myself. It’s insane how easy it is to fall back into the repetitions of past experience. Most of us know when a situation is as bad as it could possibly get and we still choose to put ourselves into that same cycle of crap. The question is why? Why do we subject ourselves to the same pain and injury that we have already experienced? Is it because of hope, is it because we believe the situation or person will change, or is it we become comfortable and it is easier than moving on. Change is the scariest concept of all it can make or break you. Humanities fear of change has led to most of our greatest prejudices, and downfalls, but we all know things change. For one it is inevitable you can’t, maybe prolong it but never stop it. Granted it is hard to turn away and accept that something may never be the same, but it doesn’t mean it is impossible. Breaking the cycle and allowing change to take place is a necessary evil, one because it causes pain, two because it leads to unfamiliar territory. I know this to be a fact because for the last eight and a half maybe nine years I have been living in a drug induced fairytale. Reason being, it was easier than letting change take place for better or for worse. Think if your driving a car at sixty miles an hour then comes a four-way intersection, which is easiest, stay straight, or brake and steer left or right. Obviously going straight, because going left or right means you have to fight the velocity of the vehicle to make the turn, which means, you have opposition. Were going straight there is no friction nothing to stop or hinder, the only problem is what’s at the end of that road, a cliff, maybe a dead end. Either way nothing, that is what’s there, see if you’ve been heading in a straight decline there can be no other outcome. Only if you turn away can it change. Someone once told me if you come to a crossroad, always go right, because right is the right way to go. This is in a since true because if you go left you go back and live in the past, if you go straight you end up stuck in right now forever, and only if you turn right can you actually venture into something new. So remember sometimes what was good was good for that moment and that moment only because that was all it was meant to be that moment. That doesn’t mean no good comes from anything else. It just means that if we don’t learn to accept the fact that all things are not meant to last we will beat ourselves up due to the past and we miss what may have really been meant to be.
