Wow, just watched maybe the best SmackDown in years and I have not see a response like this in a long time, yes I read the spoilers from the taped show a few days ago, in fact at most shows I have friends there to fill me in, anyways but I wanted to watch first hand before I commented. First again let me say WOW, I am in shock here, not that Christian dropped the belt but but the madness from the wrestling community that followed, everyone seems to be upset, and I don’t get it. As a side note I have to add I love what they are doing with the Corre and even more with Sin Cara who is already so majorly over, he will be wearing gold very soon, what an exciting wrestler, haven’t seen anyone like him in a long, long time.

     Lets start here, it was a great match, good length, nice spots, the crowd was into it and the finish was epic, so big plus here. Then we see a dejected Christian after the match, and he worked the crowd beautifully here, he sold this perfectly, got everyone on his side after the loss the entire WWE Universe seems to have something to say about this match, which is not only huge for SmackDown which needed a big draw, but for Christian who is now in line for a long program here where he will be featured as a top guy, brilliant move here. Not only will he be featured as a top guy but a top face, if they choose to keep him there and not pull the frustration heel angle, which is possible, which leads me to this.

     Ortons return to the the belt and more importantly a return to the dark-side. After working maybe his best all around performance in years, RKO also played his post match part very well coming back to the ring and making sure the crowd knew who the new champ is. Never has a guy had to do so little ( basically just win a match, and clean no less ) to become a heel, it may not have shown through yet, but this is a perfect chance to put him back where he is most comfortable and allow all the emotion to get behind Christian and take him to a whole new level . Lets face it, RKO is great, doesn’t really matter in what role he is in, but lets not get it twisted, he is such a better heel and it’s not even close. When Randy is a full blown heel anything can and will happen, mainly because you really feel like this guy is friggin Gong Show man just 31 flavours of crazy, and we all eat it up.

     This has a chance to not only be Christians biggest role in his career but one of the biggest programs in WWE history, there is so much going on here, and so much they can do with it. And No I don’t feel I am overstating this at all either, just check out the fan boards all over the net and view the outrage over this. This is not a Mark piece, if you love wrestling and know the game then you can see the build here and where this could go. People will tun in to watch and this most assuredly ” Will put butts in the seats “.
