Her parents broke up three weeks after her birth & her mother took the family back to her Welsh roots to the town of Prestatyn in North Wales and she grew up with a single mother in Edwina.
She didn’t trace the Dutch side of her family until 2007, when she took part in the genealogy programme “Who Do You Think You Are” and she found that her father “Anton was an active member of the Dutch resistance, during the Nazi occupation. Extremely sadly for Carol her father died during filming of the programme.
She first married in 1985 at aged 24 to Chris Mather a Royal Navy Officer & former Rugby League International Player. This marriage lasted a year.
Her second marriage to Patrick King with whom she had her children Katie & Cameron King, but they separated in 2000.
She shared a home with public relations consultant Des Kelly a Daily Mail Man, they lived together in London & West Cork, Ireland until December 2006 when they reportedly split, however it was rumoured that they were back together by January 2007.

In the mid eighties a regular on Peter Levy’s Radio show reading a story for pre-school children listening with their mothers to stories on the radio.
