Cartoons and Animations

I love cartoons. Especially when i’ve had a stressful day. They are about the only thing on television I find relaxing to watch as they are pretty much care free and usually full of humour.

A list of cartoons, old and new that most of us will remember and some we still enjoy.

  • Super Mario World Cartoon. Relating to the popular Nintendo computer game, which we still play today, just an updated, more advanced version. They also cashed in with the 1993 film Super Mario Bros.

  • Mickey Mouse. A complete classic, that is still popular today with children. Created by Walt Disney and Ub Lwerks  in 1928.

  •   The Simpson’s. Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Full of humour and bizarre goings on. Portrays the American culture in various aspects. A favourite in my household. I even catch my mother watching it on occasions.

  •  The Flintstones. Another classic. First aired in 1960, the stone-age setting combined with modern day situations is partially what made the cartoon so popular.

  • Family Guy.  In my opinion nothing can beat this. It’s had me in stitches, crying with laughter. Portraying a dysfunctional family, and sometimes bordering on things that in the real world, most of us would find somewhat offensive, this modern day animation, somehow seems to get away with it. Using cutaway gags to give the show an edge, and the slightly bizarre oddity of the talking dog Brian who has sexual relations with humans! Little Stewie who on most occasions is trying to plot something. This show is a great getaway from the real world. Even if its just for half an hour.
