1. It is Costly :- This fact is true for any types of research activities. Mass Communication research needs gargantuan inputs of money. Filed testing techniques are very costly.
2. It is Time Consuming :- Primary data cannot be collected without spending time. Further, a large number of researchers is needed to undertake research in some cases.
3 It is Dependence upon Gadgets:- Electronic gadgets like telephone, people’s meter etc., are commonly used nowadays to get responses from the audience. These gadgets may not always work smoothly.
4 It is Content analysis could Genrate Wrong Data :- The researcher may exclude some parts of the content that he has been given to read or view. Moreover, it may be difficult to define the categories to be counted. Finally, the researcher may be based towards or against the content.
5. It is Only Theory :- This type of research defines theory, create hypothesis, and moves on to the data collection stages to prove the hypotheses. However, the real media world is aloof from the procedures of a handful of researcher who are bookworms. The theory does not translate into to be practice. As such, it is rendered useless.
6. It is too Subtle to be Credible :- Researchers quite often ask abstract or subtle questions. Their questions have academic hues, but they are of nil value to the media to today.
