Even thou change can be uncomfortable, it is not impossible; if successful then you have stretched and conquered the challenge.
Life if full of different things, and things are constantly changing around us, but how do you accept change? Some accept it and roll with the punches, while other have a difficult time dealing with a change in their normal routine. Change is good, it is healthy for us in many ways, if you change the way you go to work, your brain has to pay attention to what your doing; thus you must stay alert. Food shopping in another supermarket can be a frustrating change since most of us hate to food shop, and if we can’t figure out where anything is it makes our experience worse. I suggest set aside to do to go shop in a different market, since this too is good for the brain, since it forces us to look, find and focus on what we are doing. Even if you don’t purchase anything you got the opportunity to “comparison shop”.
Changing the supermarket your accustomed to.
Perhaps moving, that is a much bigger change, but still very challenging.
If you can learn to accept changes life can be easier to endure, especially when your plans are changed due to an emergency or time constraints. With so much to see and do, why do the same thing every weekend, if you enjoy going for walks go someplace different, try something new with your children, your partner or your friends.
Many people who are unhappy in one area of their life find that it is because they are not stretching, they are not changing, because these things may be uncomfortable for you. I remember being very uncomfortable talking in front of people or in large groups, then I was asked to do a presentation, and I was going to say no, but then I realized that I needed to stretch, make some changes; so I said yes. After I said yes, I began to panic, and I wondered why I was so afraid? I was afraid because of the “change” and doing what I was not accustomed to doing and this made me uncomfortable.
I did that presentation, and have done many since that time because I accepted the change as a challenge. Since that time, when I am asked to do something that makes me uncomfortable I get a bit nervous, but then I recalled that while it is something different, it’s a change and I can handle it.
